I got hit by a rock a few months ago and the chip is turning into a crack. Thinking of replacing it. Anyone know what a new windshield costs for a 2006 S4 avant?

PPG is more chip resistant and has less distortion

Going to call insurance company when I get home. Cant remember what my deductable is.

I've had very bad luck with after market glass and distortion

Also FWIW, I had factory glass installed on my B5 A4 for $450 about two years ago

Got Audi glass, done at the dealer by their preferred company, and new rain sensor for under $400. Looks like original and no problems. Insurance deductible was $500 so they were not involved.

I was expecting it to be much more than that so I was pleasantly surprised.

replaced by safelite for $250 (Pathfinder is a 2005) and they came to my wifes job and did it in the parking lot. I looked at the glass yesterday and it looks just like OEM and they did a very nice job, even transfered my inspection sticker.

Give safelite a call and get a quote and try to haggle with them. They initially told me it would be $335, but I said my deductible is $250 and she came back with a better quote.

I went through a local glass company. Initially, they quoted me for a replacement glass that was not the Audi brand. I went to have it installed and they said it did not have the rain sensor mounted on it already. The guy offered to take it off of my glass and glue it onto the new glass. I didn't want to take any chances with it being crooked, so I asked him to order the Audi glass. I got it installed for $350.
