once the new S4 is delivered, I'll put them on for year round use, rather than buying dedicated wheels/snows. I'm thinking on mounting new tires on all 5 alloys and then selling the new performance tires that come with the car. Assuming they're Michelin PS2's (which list at $261 apiece from Tire Rack), what would be a fair price for them, and would anyone have interest in buying them? I'll post them FS when the car comes in, to let you know what tire the car was shipped with. I should have my car in around 3 weeks.

That's what I have. Just remember that F1 Eagle A/S is a directional tire and have to be mounted correctly.

I'd like to hear your experience - I'm getting bashed from a number of posters for even considering not getting dedicated wheels/snow tires. Here just outside Philly, there are usually no more than a few days during the winter when we need them. And I understand the traction in light snow if fairly good with the F1's.

I put them on for year round. I used to switch the summer tires for winter tires on my 2004 S4 but when it would snow in NYC the streets were clear the next day. I do not think it was worth doing for the possible 3 days of snow each year we have gotten for the past few years. Just my opinion.

In Philly, you get a storm with 6" of snow, then next day all is dry and clear. I really want to avoid the hassles of switching wheels/tires out. Makes sense to me.

Unless you are planning trips to Buffalo, I am sure you will be OK. Just make sure if you get a flat tire that the spare is set up in the correct direction ( driver's side or passenger's side ) when you switch tires.
