Have a 07 B7 and recently I started noticing a significant amount of condensation inside the right front headlight housing after I run the car thru the wash, it rains, etc. This is only the right light, not the left
A local dealer tells me this is normal since this is a "vented" headlight and the water should evaporate as it dries or if I turn on the lights...which it does. That said, this doesn't appear normal to me since it only occurs on one light and it just recently started doing this.
Anyone else have this problem?

Even with my clear corner mod.. never had problems with condensation.
You may want to go have it checked out at another dealer.

There are a whole slew of things that any car can exhibit which not everyone sees, but Audi determines not to be problematic. They call this "normal". What they really mean is "some cars get this and we do't want to fix it because its purely cosmetic or does not pose a larger problem in our opinion"
Does this suck? Indeed it does. However, you will probably find most dealers stick with the "this is normal" line. Over the years, I heard various car brands say this about things like squeaky brakes, streaks on windows, weird noises and slow/short key fob response.

and it appears as if there is a service bulletin out and Audi has deemed this "normal" for the vented headlight as long as the condensation quickly evaporates when the headlights are turned on.
Rather than actually fixing the problem(which will cost them money) they deem the problem "NORMAL". Just like the loss of PS fluid and the excessive oil consuption problems that some owners have. Only when the problem becomes excessive is anything actually done.

The dealer and the TSB indicates that they will not replace/fix these housings.
The only "end around" to this problem is that if your state has a safety inspection, point it out to the inspector and Audi is then "forced" to fix the "problem"
