My cocky friend just bought a new b7 s4 6 speed and wants to have a run with me for fun. I have a 6 speed 2.0T revo and test pipe. I know he is quicker, but he claims that he will gain bus lenghts on me.I remember reading earlier posts that chipped a4's aren't that far off speedwise from an s4.
Any thoughts...

I think the drivers will have a good bit to do with the final outcome. I actually debated getting an A4 and then modding, but I got my S4 for almost the same price as the new stock A4.
With a K04, I think you could certainly win, but unless your friend drives poorly, he should get you by 2-3 cars at ~100, but not likley bus lengths.
Let us know the results...

...it gets pretty one-sided, and by that I mean the V8 side of things.
I have the same setup you do, and the car is very good, but be sure not to go to redline - shift at around 6100 rpm's to let the car fall back into its maximum boost in the next gear.
The big difference is how the V8 makes power everywhere - runs up to its redline sooooo smoothly. Eventually, that spread in power wins the day.
If his car is brand new, do it sooner rather than later - that V8 needs a few thousand miles to loosen up and make its best power...
the socks off most b6/b7 S4's...in a straight line, but more importantly, in places where you actually need to steer around corners....fast. The little pea-shooter 4-cyl is a bear when it's 'done-up' right. :^)

bake in the heat, then make it a race. Can you say heatsink?
You have some funny a$$ stuff amongst the clutter of your sig which I didn't pay attention heretofore.....lol. :o)
