Well after trolling here and a few other Audi forums I finally decided to trade in my 2002 Infiniti I35 for a new 2007 S4.

Due to availability I was saddled with one with 50 miles, Silver, with every option you can purchase/add on the S4 (including the Carbon Fiber bodykit/trim). It's an Automatic w/ the Tiptronic transmission (due to some previous neck / back issues I opted for the easier of the transmissions to drive. Couple that with traffic in Atlanta and I'd be living on the clutch).

So I have a couple questions. Anyone in the Atlanta area with a 2006/2007 S4?

Also --- Somthing that may just drive me up the wall is the seatbelt alarm. Anyone know how to get that alarm to shut up if the car is in park and the doors are closed with the seatbelts off? I can understand the need if the car is moving, but if i'm sitting in a parked car and I don't feel like wearing a seatbelt, I don't need an alarm to chime in every 5 or 10 seconds to annoy me to death.

Anyone else notice any other suprises?

Thanks!

Daxman - WELCOME.

I'm rather new to the cars myself, compared to many here. Perhaps you may not yet know that the link, describing "VAG" is method of reprogramming the car's computer. "Chimes" are only one of hundereds of items that can be changed using special equipment(at owner's risk), or by dealer for certain things, I think....

hopefully not at a highway rest stop or public park, ewwww.

j/k. the chime can be disabled with a VAG tool.

Definitely invest in a VAG-COM if you haven't already thought about it. Not only will it take care of the seat belt chime, but it's handy to check for codes and help diagnose any future problems.

If you're not planning on investing in one right away, I believe someone usually brings one to a monthly GTG a few guys have at Perimeter Mall. Check the Southeast forum for more info.

If that doesn't work, e-mail me and we can see about meeting up somewhere and I can use my own VAG-COM to help out.

Welcome aboard!
