Seriously, I can do the throttle adapt and it is really fast for about 15minutes, then it goes back to slow..
Any thoughts??

New TT vs old TT:
I kept the original 225 hp quattro TT for almost three years and absolutely loved it. But I have to say I had mixed feelings when I saw the first photos and video clips of the new TT earlier this year. It looked sort of ok but I certainly wasn't blown away.
However, in real life the new TT looks better than in photos, especially when moving. I still think it doesn't look as good as I would have hoped but it's not that bad. I suspect it won't become a classic like the original one and it probably ages a lot more quickly than the old one which still looks stunning - and will look stunning ten years from now, imho.
I tested the 3.2 DSG (well, S tronic or whatever it's called nowadays). There's nothing wrong with the way the car handles, it felt very sharp and responsive. Nice brakes with lots of bite and firm ride. I drove it right after the RS4 and I wasn't terribly disappointed or frustrated so you could say it's pretty damn good :) What I've always liked about the TT is that it feels so tight and compact around you, almost like riding a bike. I have to agree with most TT road tests I've read, the new TT is an improvement over the old one and is quite enjoyable to drive. Of course it's not a true sports car and no match for the RS4 when you really start pushing.
BUT: the 3.2 litre engine felt very boring. There was no punch or kick in the back at all. Power comes on very smoothly - too smoothly for my taste. It's the gentleman's engine. Nice and refined but lacks sporty character. I would definitely take the 2.0T and probably chip it later on.
My biggest disappointment was the interior. The original TT interior was and still is something very special and stylish. This new one was some kind of cross-breed between Audi and Nissan/Subaru, uhh. In my opinion it looked a bit cheap and messy. It's not a total disaster but I do feel that the heart of the original TT design has been lost.
The new TT is a very good driver's car and looks ok but I think CAR magazine put it quite well by saying "Motion defeats emotion". It goes well but left me cold.
S6 avant vs S4
Hmmm, what should I say. The new S6 is very nice, refined, comfortable, sterile, stylish and spacious. On paper it's quicker than the S4 but it accelerates so smoothly and effortlessly that it feels actually slower, probably isn't. Very faint engine and exhaust sounds. You can hear the V10 but it's probably too quiet for most of us S4 drivers :) To me the S6 is the kind of car you want to drive when you want the car to be invisible to you. Maybe you talk on the phone, listen to music or try to grasp the concept of quantum physics while driving...
I probably wouldn't buy one. If I want a big and fast sedan/wagon, I'll wait for the RS6. I would probably save some money and get myself an A6 avant. And since I live in Europe, I would pick the 3.0 diesel engine which is just about perfect for this kind of car. I wonder if the S6 is going to sell well. I have my doubts. Well, it's a very nice car for german autobahns, I imagine.

i too had my TT for 3 years and it did feel exactly as you state. i miss it lots.
i am sure the 302 hp TT will address most of your issues.....
i am surprised at the S6 sedateness vs the S4. i would have expected more sound.....i suppose adjectives vary more than real life experience so i will have to wait and hear one out.
and just back from zurich and como all the A6 avants set against the european backdrop were just hot. the mrs will like err on the side of one of those instead of a Q7 in the future.
gas is not cheap. and we are not part of the en masse "bigger is better" mentality here on the other side of the atlantic.
--- wish we had a diesel engine over here.

I was also expecting a bit more growl and rumble from the S6. I guess Audi have purposely tuned it to sound civilized and unobtrusive. You can certainly hear and appreciate the sound of the V10 in full throttle but after the outstanding RS4 soundtrack it did feel quite subdued. I don't like very loud exhausts but for my taste the S4 is too quiet and the S6 felt more or less the same. I'm sure the next RS6 will sound a lot better.
We probably should have kept our old TTs. After seeing the new one I'm missing my TT even more. It really was something special.
I'm also hoping that the future high-power versions of the TT will be more exciting and aggressive. On the other hand, if one wants power and needs only two doors, one buys the no-compromise R8, right? ;)

and I will figure out how to pay for it later. Seriously. Oh, and could I maybe get a loaner car in the meantime....maybe your RS6? That way you would have a legitimate reason to drive around your S4.

This was the first 8-series Audi I've ever driven, so unfortunately I can't compare it to older models. I drove it right after the S6 and surprisingly it felt quite a bit quicker than the S6 Avant, maybe due to different ECU programming. To me it was definitely more fun to drive than the S6. I love the looks of the new S8, both exterior and interior. Everything is in place and works beautifully. The car was also exceptionally quiet and comfortable even on 20-inch wheels. It was equipped with the B&O sound system which is probably the best factory installed system at the moment and sounds unbelievable after the mediocre S4 Bose. Unfortunately there are no SD card slots or Ipod connection for MP3s at the moment but I was told it's in the works. Car also had ceramic brakes which are probably not that useful at normal speeds but according to Audi representative they are excellent on the autobahn. They didn't squeak or feel too aggressive like some ceramic brakes do, very refined. At first the steering felt a bit too light for my taste in the city but it stiffened very nicely at higher speeds.
It's a big car, too big for my needs but so easy to drive and very quick. And it certainly gathers looks everywhere. In terms of quality it's definitely above any other Audi I've ever driven. I can't imagine why your wife wouldn't love it if it's not too big a car for her. I was very impressed to say the least. Oh, I could just sit in the car and listen to my favourite records for hours, what a sound system!
You and your wife should definitely take a test drive.
