View Full Version : Anyone here think the dipstick in our cars suck? Timmay 07-25-2006, 10:47 AM I find it very hard to see the actual oil level compared to others. Bob W. 07-25-2006, 11:15 AM in the s4/RS4, I think the trick is to take a good look at the dipstick after you wipe it off (before reinserting). once you get used to knowing how it looks dry, it's easier to see where the 'wet' area begins....if that makes sense. pattycakes® iCode 07-25-2006, 11:17 AM Oh, the OIL dipsticks... *shrugs* I've had worse, my old B6 1.8T wasn't much better, and my old Maxima...*shudder* oatzel 07-25-2006, 11:53 AM bout making the level indicator a color other than one identical to oil Timmay 07-25-2006, 12:36 PM Petri 07-25-2006, 01:13 PM Huh, the 2.7T dipstick was a nightmare. I actually asked a service guy to show me how to read the bloody thing. I was sure my new 2.7T engine didn't have a drop of oil in it :) daveak05 07-25-2006, 02:30 PM typical, I hate to say it, VAG funky engineering of the most simple pieces. sparkhill 07-25-2006, 07:09 PM Timmay 07-25-2006, 09:38 PM D3AeighT 07-26-2006, 11:00 AM Are you sure you are speaking of a dip stick receptacle? re: What is looks like dry then wet, reinserting, ! lol.... FYI, the A8-D3's aren't any better. |
