Hey all,

So it's been a while since I've given you guys some insightful stuff about the B7 S4's we all love to drive. I see some new faces, err names, here as well as some oldies.

I've got flashed by the folks at Revo during Waterfest 12, up here in the northeast, and it was a decision that didn't come easy to me because of my pessicism about the benefits of an aftermarket ECU on a V8 S4. So I decided to pull the trigger and I drove back home shortly thereafter, which is about a 45 minute trek on semi open highways. Here are some observations I've made on the drive back, as well as over a 1 week period:

-the DBW throttle delay is gone, as far as I can feel. This is expecially true when upshifting aggressively. I've grown lazy with my upshifts before the chip, so my shifting a bit sloppy after the flash - when I'm not paying attention. The motor is eager to keep pulling in the next gear.
-the car appears to be snappier when I give it WOT w/o downshifting
-as subjective as it may sound, the car is eager to accellerate slightly faster
-the sound from my exhaust is a tad bit louder, which is a plus in my books =)
-my rev limiter is now at ~7500 RPM's, up from ~7100

I haven't had an opportunity to get my car up near redline speeds in any gear, with the exception of a brief and slow test of the rev limiter, but I anticipate giving the car some WOT rips soon.

My general impressions are very positive, despite being a bit skeptical before the upgrade. I like the elimination of the DBW delay when staying in gear as well as upshifting. IMO this is the way our cars should've been tuned by the factory - it really makes the car a bit more enjoyable, even at the speed of traffic.

Oh yes, obey all traffic laws folks.

Thanks for reading!
