Ya so this morning car was running fine, then on the way home the ABS light and ESC light both remain light, and both aren't working (yes I tested for both). Haven't touched any of the electronics on the car or done any work to it at all recently. The Audi dealer can't even get it fixed til Thursday, assuming they can fix it during the day.

Might be the lateral acceleration sensor. It broke down twice in my TT. Same symptoms as you described. Had to wait a couple of days for the replacement part in both cases. The sensor cost about 350 dollars here in Finland if my memory serves me right. Have you been driving on rough surfaces or maybe hit a bump or a pothole recently? I suspect that caused it for me. I was driving down a very rough cobble stone street when the first sensor died.

I started it after a few hours yesterday but it still wasn't working, now the next day it's all fine... lovely.

Excellent, but don't be surprised if it does it again. My first sensor died right away completely but the second one had good days and bad days before it finally broke down. It was working fine for a week and then the ESP/ABS lights went back on and everything was fine again the next day. So I had to replace it eventually.

Let's hope you experienced just a random computer glitch. That's been known to happen every now and then with these technical marvels :)
