I ordered a Sprint Blue S4 in October. The delivery was to be March 2006 but apparently it is going to be here in February. I live North of Toronto, Canada, so I would love to have some winter tire advice. I'm looking to drop down to a 17" rim. Has anyone tried Nokian Hakapelita's? Any other thoughts?

Thanks.

I have found this combo to be most impressive in the snow, slush and wet too. The Michelin maintains the original look and handling is superb in the months before and after the snow flies but while your summer tires are not on yet. I don't think you need a better tire on public roads, personal opinions. This way you can then spend the money on your second set of wheels to be nice 18" or 19" just dedicated to the summer rubber. Works for me.

the equal if not superior to the Michelins. PLUS they cost about $100/tire less. I have the Contis and run them all year round. I am completely satisfied with them. BTW, the stock Contis sucked.

I live in germany and have been driving in snow and ice for the past month and a half straight. There isnt ever even a hint of slip and the ride is better than my stock conti's were. If you can get them they are by far the best IMO. They are hard to come by now though because they are the newest winter tirte in the dunlop lineup.

That's what I figured.
I used them on a 1990 Celica 4WD Turbo years ago and I could drive through anything.

Hi.

I have a B7S4-6MT with Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S tires on all five OEM rims and they are great. I plan to run them all year long.

Wear on them on my previous 2.7T and my wife's car has been very good...about 20k on the quattro, which for me is good (I don't take it to the wear groove, but to about 40% tread to be safe). I had the Michelins before, but the cost was a bit higher and the wear a bit lower. The pirellis are also pretty quiet with wear.
