What is the underlying benefit of getting a 2005.5 S4 at a discount over getting the new 06's? Won't I in the end pay the price when I want to sell the 2005.5 in the future? Thanks.

Of course, I only speak for North America. Troll2 01-01-2006, 05:16 PM worst 'mass produced' brands when it comes to resale value in both the mid-term and long-term. Where did you get the facts to support your statement? Troll2 01-01-2006, 05:23 PM You'll get the 12%-14% reduction on the MSRP right now because it's 'one model year old'. You'll take the further 20% hit after you 'sign the papers'. Then you'll get hit by the 9%-10%/year after that. In the end it doesn't matter as long you don't get 'upside down' on the car. I've seen lots of people get burned because of this. In three model years your $50,000 Audi will be worth around $29k. Don't worry about it and buy the car, you're gonna lose money on any car. Audi S5 TC 01-02-2006, 12:37 PM I am basing my information on what other forum members have stated over the past few months. Troll2 01-02-2006, 03:31 PM But I think you should look at Audi's 'depreciation' over the last 20 years. It's one of the worst in the industry. The new cars are no better, even our beloved B5 S4. Don't buy an Audi if you want it to be worth as much as a similiar priced BMW or Acura in the same period of time. Audi S5 TC 01-03-2006, 09:22 AM jmsod 01-03-2006, 02:18 PM Yes, it is true that Audi's typically depreicated faster than other foreign cars, but they have really closed the gap in the past 4-5 years. Do your research. Also, a car is NEVER (or rarely... some exotics and limited editions are) an investment. Troll2 01-06-2006, 07:09 PM who said a car was an investment? certainly not me. just because audi has 'closed the gap' doesn't mean they don't have the industries worst residual values. YOU need to look into your 'facts'. They're suspect..... I'm done with audiworld and the infantile responses....... |
