View Full Version : why should i buy a b6 when i know the b7 is coming??? johnsa4 10-21-2004, 08:30 PM S4_Cinci (I S'edTFA) 10-22-2004, 09:01 AM ;-P bostoned 10-27-2004, 07:48 AM AnimaTTor 10-27-2004, 06:18 PM ... The B6 is still on sale, with special incentives to get rid of the stock. The B7 S4 isn't as dramatic an upgrade as the B7 A4 since the engine is the same, (The new A4 gets more powerful engines and much of the B6 S4's and C6 A6's suspension) but it's still a step up. The new S4's upgtraded suspension, new engine placement (for better weight distribution), and interior amenities (full screen DVD nav, bluetooth etc) make it worth the wait. There are a lot of unsuspecting buyers who recently got a B6 A4, only to learn that if they just waited a couple of months, they could have been able to get the superior B7. Yes, the nose of the car is longer, but it's all overhang forward of the front wheels; all other proportions seem the same. The engine compartment of the B6 is crammed as it is - how would they find room to move the engine *back* without stretching the frame? Please prove me wrong - it'd be significant to me if they in fact are addressing the weight distribution issues. JDBlueAudiS4 10-29-2004, 06:01 AM and possibly the RS4 engine in order to have better distribution. Its kinda like the Porsche Boxster Theroy, its the best handleing porsche and not the most expensive, I have a feeling the A series cars in the 3 and 4 styles will have very good handleing capabilities in there newer form. My opinionated response is "because the B7 is ugly". If you don't like my opinion, well, that's OK because it was an open ended question directed towards everyone. The question wasn't directed to people who only agree with your opinion. This is an open forum with people who have differeniating ideas. My post was in no way intended to be offensive to johnsa4 or yourself. If anyone should have been offended, it should have been Peter Schreyer, Audi's Chief Designer. And for him I reserve no apologies. Speaking as a lifelong diehard Audi fan, I am truly disappointed by his latest Frankenstein creations. I'm not the first to express the B7 as having a wide mouth design. Every press review to date has always brought up the topic in their first couple paragraphs ("controversal grill" were the words used in the last article I read). I just prefer showing pictures to drive my point (and to assist the mentally challenged) :-) PS: Tighten up the language, there's no swearing on AW. oldefarms 11-07-2004, 11:59 AM Does anyone have an idea when the B 7 will arrive in the USA in a wagon ? Is there a neww TT being shipped to the USA within the next 6-12 months |
