Imperial 10-30-2004, 10:40 AM in an S car. No one really seems to know one way or another, but maybe they'll actually do it for the D3 S8? Or maybe at least have some Lambo-tuned motors or something. Either way, I hope it IS coming, because the D3 S8 is WAY overdue! Audi S5 TC 10-30-2004, 03:40 PM I believe a normally aspirated 5.5L FSI V10 producing 100 hp per liter (550 hp overall). With FSI, the normally aspirated 5.5L V10 should easily be able to produce 450 lbs/ft of torque (81.8 lbs/ft of torque per liter), which will be needed for a car as heavy as the new S8 will most likely be (4,300-4,500 pounds). If a normally aspirated 3.2L I6 with a conventional fuel injection system (which is in the E46 M3) can produce 269 lbs/ft of torque (84.1 lbs/ft per liter), then a normally aspirated 5.5L FSI V10 can easily produce 450 lbs/ft of torque (again, 81.8 lbs/ft per liter). ryoung 10-30-2004, 10:52 PM Aaronb55 10-31-2004, 05:44 PM A new Audi V-10 with 550 Horsepower, and its comming out in 2006 for something something something... Sorry my german is rusty! PhxR8 11-22-2004, 08:33 AM or so I was told by my Audi dealer. Anyone heard differently??? nirad 11-30-2004, 08:06 PM |
