This is why I take this hobby to the extent I do. Music can do wonderful things. It helps to find out which music really does it for you first. Then you just need to hear it on a really nice system that stimulates your ears enormously. Then you just have to set about saving up for such a system. This is why I can take or leave movies. They are fun to watch when the occasional decent movie is released. But you don't get to go where music can take you. pierreb 05-01-2008, 10:08 AM basement HT is completed. BeeRock::Riding Red 05-01-2008, 11:58 AM and a 10k turntable, listening to a jazz band play. i positioned the speakers how i wanted them and closed my eyes and listened. this was RIGHT when I was the head FOH engineer at a jazz club. It sounded like i was right next to the stage and i could reach out and grab the sax player!!!! BeeRock::Riding Red 05-01-2008, 03:57 PM live recordings sound amazing on maggies. some jazz , beethoven. the police(if I feel they dont hurt the maggies with the kicks etc...(might though) I dont know when I would purchase them, id have to be at a very succesful point to do it, cuz i would spend about 250k to do it right )aie yie yie!!!!! thanks for giving me a goal, the porsche 993 or gt 40 is first though! CajunTaco 05-01-2008, 05:18 PM at least that's not what I use it for...background noise or something to listen to while I nap on the patio. Listening to my dedicated system is something else entirely, it's a place to decompress...to experience the music not just hear it. It's a way to escape for a little while, something the quality of a whole house system would not allow. Some ppl don't get it...I know. |
