I mean aside from open ports on top where a cat might like to sit over, there's the possibility of it being mistaken as a scratching post and getting knocked over?
Just trying to find alternatives instead of a huge box. Footprint on this one is only 16" in diameter and specs nicely with a 13" Ultra driver, 750 watt BASH amp.... supposedly right up there in performance next to an SVS PB13 Ultra minus the huge box form factor. Hit/skip?

I've had it for about 6 years now. Sounds great.
SVS didn't make boxes at the time or I would have likely went that route, however.
I think the 46" tall ultra would really stand out unless you have a clever spot to hide it.
I'm really pleased with SVS. Build quality of the two SVS subs I have are great and their customer service has been very good to me.

though their loose hair does cling to the fabric, but nothing a vacuum can't solve

One HT experience and they give it a wide berth!
There's a mesh screen on the top. No way they could knock it over. AFAIK, It's just a fabric sock. I have to run a lint remover on it every few weeks.
The old cat is afraid of his own shadow and hauls ass anytime there's loud music or he sees people on the screen. The young one gets into EVERYTHING, has a particular fetish for plastic bottle caps or anything else she can carry in her mouth, but has never bothered the sub. Caught her up on the built-in bookcases once - used the top of my JBL 250Ti as the launch pad.
The little one destroyed several open runs of very small speaker wire I had temporary run to rear surrounds in my bedroom. After tasting and wearing some for half a day, she now leaves wires alone. ;-)
SVSound has been awesome on customer support. I somehow managed to smoke the original driver during the warranty period, and after Ron S and Tom V (SV get it?) verified that I did indeed set it up with an SPL meter and was more than comfortable replacing the driver myself, he sent out a newer model driver as a replacement and e-mailed the disassembly instructions.

I refused to even date chicks with cats.

There's just no way in hell I'd be able to give enough attention to a dag. It just wouldn't be fair to it, as much as I like dags.
