Gents,
I need some help trying to find an original pressing of a Led Zeppelin album for my Dad. There are a few around on the web but am wondering if you have any recommendations for online retailers.
Thanks in advance.

Those that do probably won't have it long enough to put on their site. Ebay is probably your best bet.
Which album is it?

Shipping will be a little more than listed.
I've bought from Amazon UK a few times.<ul><li><a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000FU7ERW/ref=sr_1_olp_1?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1209145302&sr =8-1">LZ PG</a></li></ul>

look at amazon.co.uk, Ebay...but caveat emptor.
Check this link for what to look for in a first pressing. It depends on what you want...a first pressing for first pressings sake is one thing, but they are not always the best sounding examples available, and they will be so old and used you will have trouble finding any in mint cond.
acousticsounds.com has a audiophile reissue for sale but quite expensive since it's a 4 sided album. This is your best bet for a good listening copy.<ul><li><a href="http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=50864">http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=50864</a</li></ul>

The Steve Hoffman link was especially helpful.
I seem to have had my interest in old vinyl sparked lately and am considering updating my old deck to a newer one. Lots of shopping to do yet, but the interest is there.
Again, thanks for the help. Next, which deck to buy..... Or is it speakers first ?
The dilemna of choice.

Oddly enough, there has never been a better time to buy a turntable. There are very few of those plastic and poorly executed direct drive designs around any more. Most of the manufacturers left making turntables (apart from most of the USB attired offerings) are pretty good at it and take it quite seriously.
Of the 'budget' models available, Cambridge, Pro-Ject, Goldring and Rega are as good as any out there.
Technics SL1200 is still a contender if you like a tight sound with good bass, but the stock arm isn't particularly good. Switching out for a Rega RB250 is the way to go if a Direct Drive floats your boat and you don't mind a bit of DIY.
Most turntables these days are belt drive (almost all the high-end models are) simply because vibration is bigger problem with vinyl playback than pitch stability.
There are more high-end turntables made today than ever before.
Cartridges are better today than ever before too.

I just walked up the road to the local HE store and was told to research the Pro-Ject Debut III or RM5 for an upgrade.
From a brief interweb search it seems they perform very well and the Debut III is a great way to start.
I'll have to do more research but it's great to see how much choice is available.
Any thoughts would be appreciated and it seems like a good opener for a new thread in itself.
Love the Sig - could have thrown the TV out the window when watching the last half of the Liverpool game. Coudn't believe it !

depending on what you have already and which TT you currently have I'd upgrade there first. If you already have decent speakers then go for the table...
After a DAC a turntable will be my next upgrade.
