In our house most of the movie watching is spur of the moment and rarely planned, as in "hey let's go over to the home theater room and watch a movie."
As such, hang your screen on the wall in your living area and hide the other equipment as best you can. This is where you hang out and listen to music too. Do folk's go to the home theater to listen to music? If not they should because that's most likely where the good sound is.
We combined what used to be a so called living room with the dining room to form an uber dining room some time ago and just go with the uber family room... theater, music, living and game room.
That said, I guess if you have the space and money, why not have your own theater room too?

Looks like 8000s for the front, and 4 6000s for the rear. Close to 100k just in speakers.
