For my limited budget, I have narrowed my search to these two set of floor standing speakers.
Both can be had for about $400-$440 shipped (Pair)

Very revealing highs, lots of low frequency information, super efficient (don't need much nuice to drive them thanks to the horn-loaded tweeter), but they aren't very subtle.
Not recommended for jazz, classical, female vocal, acoustic instruments of practically any kind as their mid-range performance is rather set in the background and lacking any stage depth.
They are great for parties and useful for movies.

Not familiar with that line of Yamaha speakers. Their Suavo line is outstanding, but the price is way up there.

If you're listening to highly-compressed music they're fine. But if you care about getting the most out of a well-recorded song generally they're a skip.
What do you enjoy listeging to?
