I am trying to decide on a set for our master br. The source will be a HD D*tv box of some kind, no dvd at all...and no receiver either, so good speakers is a must. LCD over plasma (personal preference).

I've not decided on a mounting place yet...anywhere from 8 to 15 feet from the primary viewing position.

I'm thinking 40" since it will be HD and my sight is BAD without glasses. Sony KDL-40V2500 is at the top of my short list.

Is the size right? What other units would you recommend? Keep in mind this is going to be a third set, not my primary HT. Thanks.

My viewing distance is about the same (about 14 feet sitting up on my bed, closer if I sit on the chair nearby) and a 52" LCD is perfect. Had a 40" before and I thought it was a bit small. Waking up to Sunrise Earth in the morning in 5.1 is awesome! :)

they normally do not have as much light as a family room - and the plasma prices are cheaper and offer better performance than lcd.
