over output resolution, lip sync, panamorph (expanding / squeezing the picture), etc.
or do they simply do their thing internally with little user control - hence the need for a real scaler?

output resolution: 480/720p/1080i/p or passthrough (no upscaling) from all digital and analog sources.
lip sync: 'automatic' and user adjustable
not sure about panamorph, haven't explored that because my display does a fine job.
the 905 also allows for minimal adjustability of the ReonVX processor: mosquito nr, block, random, other noise reduction... I don't think it's as detailed as the control the DTC 9.8 allows for the Reon chip.

if I were to do it again, I'd have gone for the 875 and saved the few hundred bucks.

though I don't consider myself an audiophile nor do I scrutinize every aspect of my audio setup. I'm the type who plugs in the calibration mic and lets the Audyssey MultEQ XT do its own thing.
