of course we're talking about how you position your xbox in your rack. I hear vertical is better. But I can't agree. Since the two vents are on the "ends". So I've had mine laying down, horizontally, going on 18 months. Lots of mileage. No issues, knock on wood.

I tried standing it up when we first bought it but it ruined 2 games in one day. So ever since then I've laid it down and not one problem has happened since then.

Don't think it matters much either way. Once I get my console back from Microsoft, it'll be my 4th one. Everyone gets the RRoD eventually.

I don't think so. Vertical exposes more surface area and volume to heat exchange with cooler room air. And I think opens more vent holes.
