VGA video to sammy 1080p dlp (61 inch)

toslink audio connected to YAMAHA RX-v2400 hooked up in 7.1 + 2 pressence channels.

I know with the yammaha I can go 7.1 or 5.1 + 2 pressence channels. Most of the time i go 7.1 (which is realy 6.1 with the 2 rears matrixed of the sides if not an ex track)

question, when i watch a HD DVD using the 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus soundtrack....what is my yamaha seeing?

Even though my rx-v2400 is only 3 years old...is it already out of date?

5.1, 7.1.....i am not sure

but, all the hd players i have scene all have digital out untill you get up over $500 bones
