at work for more than a couple of months now because...... this is a long story, kind of.

We (Audioport in KC) have two stores, I work at one store and everyone else works at the other store. when we picked up Vandersteen we ordered pretty much one of everything, and two of somethings evidently. the guys at the other store hooked theirs up a few months back and were not quite impressed. I think it was too subtle for them. we have had the one here at this store just sitting in the back room because a) "they were not quite impressed" and b) we didn't really have a good spot for it on the floor. 'they' just kept saying forget about it we'll return it sometime.... I finally got tired of walking around and continued to tell them that if they were going to clutter my space with it that I was going to take it out and start playing with it. so, today I did.

I am running it with rotel components and a pair of Vandersteen model 1ce(s) in a stereo environment. currently playing the Columbia Jazz festival compilation disc, Tommy flannagan (sp) blue trombone on a project xpression table with a crappy cartridge so it doesnt sound great but I just breaking it in. I have heard a difference in the two hrs its been running. today I am being too lazy to go into the other room and move the cabinet out to pull out a decent cd player. I'll do that tomorrow.

Rotel rc-1070 pre
rotel rb-1070 amp
audioquest cables, type 4 and CV4.2.

and I don't see a weight printed anywhere handy but I'd guess about 50lb.

and......

Richard Vandersteen is coming to out to our store next monday so I figured we should have it up and running. I am rather excited about his visit. the presence of greatness and all.....
