View Full Version : Does the xbox hd-dvd upconvert?

I don't remember seeing that it does but my standard dvds look better with it.

And I'm starting to get all the hype about HD dvd...pretty awesome. Still not going to run out and buy a bunch but I will switch from blockbuster to netflix (BB doesn't rent hd dvd).

afaik, it'll upconvert over VGA and HDMI, not Component.

but only when you conect the HD DVD add on. Part of the software for that makes it upconvert standard DVD

If you have a new 360 with HDMI (or 360 elite) they will also upconvert. Not sure if it requires the HD DVD add on.

Is it possible to route the video directly to my projector via hdmi (I thought the 360 didn't offer hdmi?) and the audio to my receiver? My reciever doesn't offer hdmi and I haven't checked for vga.

Otherwise what's the point of the HD player?

Do I need the xbox cable that converts to vga for the projector?
