So I got the wiring behind the wall and outlet installed behind the TV (pics tonight!). I also just bought a new media storage center, got it all built last night and put all the components in.

Throw in a DVD and hit play. I hear sound (from receiver) but no video. The screen shows "invalid format".

It's a LG DB191H player connected via HDMI to my LG 42LC7D. Is it possible it is a upscaling resolution issue (from what I've read online so far)? I didn't have time to play with resolution settings as it was late and had to get to work early.

to the TV via HDMI also? Or DVD directly to the TV via HDMI and digital sound from the DVD player to the receiver?

Do you have a set of component cables to try?

I use to use component cables but switched to HDMI. The component worked fine.
