Great, I'm just not suppose to watch this on HD-dvd. Here is the saga.

Netflix GP on HD, it comes, but hay, it's just the cover, the Disk is not there! Wait 5 days, to tell Netflix, well on the 7th day they get it back. Get issued it again, well it's just a DVD, and not HD, also the whole movie doesn't fit on one DVD!

Send it back order it again. So yesterday it comes in, I pop it last night, start to watch it, looks AWESOME, then it just freezes. I shut it off, turn it back on, the welcome screen pops up, freezes, repeat, repeat. Now I have the 3 red lights of death!

Spend about 30min messing with it, turn it on, off, unplug, etc...
I'm going to mess with it tomorrow. SO this morning, it's doing the same thing, look on the web, find out it's 0102 code, just a general fault. GREAT the warranty ran out 3 weeks ago.

Then I found a post about putting a hairdryer on it, or wrapping it in a blanket till it overheats. RIght now, my 360 is in a blanket, waiting to auto shut down.

Wish me luck!
Maybe I should not watch GP!

It looks like the blanket trick worked perfectly! I'm watching GP right now!

It would not even boot up. I would turn it on, then it would just flash the 3 red lights.

It's busted? Out of warranty. So how much more damage can I do?
The fault was just a "general" fault.

Yes, I overheated the 360, till it shut off. Let it cool, and
VIOLA it works!

Saved me getting a new one, or not having it for a month while it gets fixed!

again.

I'm on my 2nd xbox. It's been working fine until just the other day when it overheated. But it rebooted fine after I let it rest for a few mins.

I think that's just a rumor that Mac people started.

reason for the lock up.

Even with just the 360, no HDD or HD player attached & no game in the unit would not boot. It wasn't even getting to the boot phase.

The best way to describe it would be a computer, that can't even get into the BIOS (like when you put in the wrong ram) just a blank black screen with some flashing lights on the unit.

Didnt sell on eBay.

Im not hatin' on SONY either. My friends were all stunned that I returned it saying, "You used to be the poster boy for SONY. They probably had a picture of you in their corporate conference room".

Yeah, the Xbox 360 just seems better overall.
