I know this is not ideal, but the only place I have to locate two floor standing speakers is on either end of an "L" sectional sofa. I don't have the speaker specs with me right now, but I thought I read they can handle 60 degress off axis. Does that mean they can tolerate being 45 degress off axis to each other? The tv is kitty corner accross the room (12x10).

For what it's worth to the conversation, the speakers are Paradigm Monitor 7v.4 and will be powered by a two channel Rotel RX1052 integrated amp. The sytem will be used about 50/50 music and tv/movies. Trust me, there is no other place in this small room because of two doors and a wide entry into the dining room. The speakers and amp are still in boxes and will be trying to set it up this weekend.

As a side question, should I bi-wire these speakers. I bought decent wire and banana plugs. All I'd need is one more set of plugs to bi-wire.
Thanks

speaker off-axis is in reference to its aim towards the LP (Listening Position).

Basically, it's how far to the side you (the listener) can move off of the imaginary line between the speaker and where you normally sit without suffering a loss in definition and quality.

Just aim them at your head, it doesn't really matter where they are in the room. Ideally you want them up front, because of TV/Movie watching comfort, but imo music doesn't get affected as much.

I will essentially be sitting between them with them aimed almost directly at the listening position. It will be interesting to see what impact that has on where you sense dialogue when watching tv/movies.

I'm using bannana plugs so it would be pretty easy to bi-wire. There are 4 posts on the back of each speaker cabinet. But my question is, just what does bi-wiring do for increasing the performance of the speaker? It would make more sense to me if there were 4 posts to plug into for each speaker on the back of the amp, but there are only two. The 4 posts on the back of the speakers are currently bridged with a metal plate that allows you to just use the standard 2 wire (neg and pos) connection or remove it for bi-wiring.

could be helpful with demanding speakers and/or large rooms, but requires more than one amp.
