i know i should be looking into a nice setup, but my wife just aint gonna allow anymore big time spending this holiday season. so im looking to wrap up the HT sound for my sony XBR2.

your thoughts will be appreciated. remember, im on a budget so im sure this is all not state of the art goods:

1) klipsch 10" powered sub
cost: $199 at BB on BF

2) sony #STR-DG800 receiver
cost: $359 right now at BB or sears or wait till BF and buy it all $399 and get a $150 gift card with the purchase (that can offset the klipsch sub)

3) Polk Audio T90EB - PAIR
cost: $349 from tweeter for the pair (on sale)

now i know i can get rear speakers, and a center as needed, but for now, this might do the trick.

hit me up if you're interested.

I think he said it retails for around $1900
Ive seen it online for around $1500

reciever with up conversion etc.. if you want to use hdmi just run a wire to the tv..(even though comp has a better picture though and its a waste of money IMHO)

its really a non issue you can always go out and buy a key digital hdmi switcher and do switching that way...

sub. However, If I were ever going to attempt any modifications to a sub these would be a prime candidate. Im about to buy the remaining set off of my AV guy and create some crazy sub horn enclosures.
