I like having channel number buttons and the Logitec Harmony looks like it has some good features in a nicely shaped/sized remote.

Anyone using it?

I much prefer it to a Pronto. No pages to turn with each operation. Loads of hard buttons, huge memory, supremely easy to program, great macro signal sending, fabulous three transmitter output, wife loves it, nice soft touch operation on hard buttons, custom button labels on LCD buttons, ergonomically sound, one hand operation, playback buttons not at the bottom of handset (like most universals), good backlighting and great overall value.

Very highly recommended.

What don't I like about it? Not much, it does everything I want it to.

The programming interface is great and the usability is great also. I was looking for a remote that I could use for all of my equiptment and have my wife still be able to use it.

I would definately recommend the 680 or 676 over any of the others. I've read alot of horror stories about the 688 and people have said the buttons are too small. The 680 and 676 both have hard buttons for tivo like functions....main difference is some of the button layouts and soft vs hard buttons.

I think the 668 is the one that Best Buy carries and if I were you I'd just buy it off the internet. Amazon is a good place.

If you want more information check out the forums at the link below.

In particular this thread I found very helpful:

If I hadn't got my 688 for free (gift from manufacturer for being a good dealer) I'd be a little pissed

Since I have a tivo the 680 was a better fit for me. My only complaint is the channel and volume buttons are a tad too low. Other than that...its awesome!

They are all connected...Also this remote doesn't have alot of the hard buttons that the 680 has specific to DVR controls...like "Live TV"...etc. I liked where the channel/volume controls were but I use the FF & RW buttons to much for them to be so low.

Not to mention the quality control issues that aren't present with the 680...

Anyways like I said all opinion

space between them. Easy to to get used to. Took me about a day. The action on these buttons is as good as I've used.

The stupid button layout is why I passed on the 688

the guide button is my 'now playing list' beucase I never watch DTV live.

The clear button isn't mapped from the factroy etc..thank god it's as easy as a few mouse clicks.

Its really so easy to use. I've also made a skip button using the 30sec skip. Basically I used the RAW rec mode to program as many skips as possible. The best I could get was 6-30sec skips. Which gets me a little over half way through commercials in most cases. I'm going to try next for 8 and I think that would be perfect!

my wife prefer's FFW X3 then play but I prefer the 30sec jumps

we can use both...plus I used an LCD button to setup a single 30sec skip btn.

I love this remote so easy!

The Harmony is the closest thing to it as far as universals go. Maybe Harmony will come out with something pretty much identicle in button layout. My only major complaint is the placement of the channel & volume buttons...but its not a major issue.
