it gives you more control over brightness, it has three chips (better color accuracy), shows all three colors at the same time (DLP only displays one at a time, but tricks the eye into thinking otherswise courtesy of spinning wheel) and the D-ILA image looks less digital (smoother and more detailed). But most of these are quite subtle differences.

in that regard, i'd be wary. However, i don't know how long it's been around for front projection... just my 2 cents. that's about all it's worth.. ;-)
