The menu us sharper, ad free, and you can now watch 4:1 size picture while you surf the programming guide. It's got dual tuners and user selectable color scheme with about 10-15 preset colors. It finally knows the difference between first-run and reruns too.

Overall, much better.

Still kind of a piece of $hit though. =/

My SciAtl 8000HD does its job, but barely. Software is just the suck.

How hard would it be to just copy TiVo but make it different enough so that the lawyers would leave you alone?

BTW I didn't know there were no cable jacks in the bedroom. That fvcking suxor :(

You know the landlord. What do you think I should do? Only way seems to be running the cable through the ceiling and putting a jack somewhere in the ceiling (I was thinking putting the jack in the little space btwn window and BR wall).

OR running the cable through the ceiling and into the BR wall separating the dining area and bedroom. Then putting a jack low on the BR wall.

Think he'd go for it?

What's hilarious is that he said he was worried about an installer fvcking up his building, so he had one of his guys do it.

GO LOOK AT THE WALL WHERE THE CABLE COMES IN. 8-|

I mean splitting where the cable comes out of the wall and running one to my bedroom and putting an outlet in the bedroom.

And yes there's like 3 holes in the wall where his guy fvcked up =) HI-larious.

I was thinking I could do it if there were enough light fixtures that I could remove along the way to have access to the ceiling.

Needless to say, I was completely fvkcing wrong. Not a chance in holy hell w/ out some type of professional with equipment helping me. =(

Back to the drawing board.

no DVR yet. Come to find out - or at least so they say - that the duel DVR isn't available for Oakland Co - only Macomb Co (mich). Is that where you are?

They can only install the single tuner - and the one they brought today doesn't work - so they are returning Sunday morning 9am.
