Ultimate TV
Got it for $60 at Circuit ****ty just in time for the 2002 World Cup so could watch all the games when I wanted rather than at 4am every day.
Quickly discovered how superb this machine and often wonder how I managed without one. Now, every time I turn on the TV there is plenty of stuff in the HD to watch, often some surprises courtesy of auto-record.
Love the two tuners and the extra features not available on other PVRs.
As soon as there are channels that interest me broadcasting HD fairly regularly I will grab an HD Tivo. I'm one of the few who could happily live without Network channels.
The Comedy Channel, Nat' Geog', Fox Sports World (English soccer), Trio and SpeedVision are the ones that matter most.

got a great deal on the first one around 5 years ago.

when the 4000/5000 series came out with ethernet built in i had to have one.

bought the 5040 to replace the 3030. which i planned to ebay, but wound up keeping it for the bedroom tv instead

then it's $1000 and you choose from a limited HD lineup :(

Currently I have the DTiVo and VOOM for HD - wish VOOM would release their PVR!!

then a TiVo, now ReplayTV to add to the TiVo.

Honestly, a straight Tivo-DirecTV setup is the best thing going. Single tuner Replay's drive me crazy. But the networking of the Replay's is kinda cool - watch in one room what you recorded in t'other.

Direct TV had a better deal on HD content than Comcast, so I went with the HD TIVO.
