I have gotten everything else and all I need now is a new DVD player.
System consists of:
50 Panasonic Viera HD Plasma
Marantz power (SR7200 - good for now until new receivers with DVI inputs/outputs are on the market)
Monitor Audio Silver speakers

Now I need some help in finding a good dvd player. I was originally looking at the DVD recordable ones but now I think I just want a good single tray dvd player.

Thanks
Mike

I haven't looked to see what's out there in terms of available titles.

so I have not gotten any DVD Audio disc since Sony did not support that format as they developed their own. I think almost all mfr now will be adding the universal player (SACD and DVD audio) to their DVD players.

I think the "Let it Bleed" release in SACD was amazing. I knew ever nuance of that album and I was blow away by it.

SACD titles

This player's D/A convertor is so good, that if you send the signal out with component connections, it's likely to be a little better than using DVI or HDMI, which are only of any use if the receiving TV/monitor has a superb D/A convertor. Most don't.
This might please you if your TH50PX25u is already on the wall with component cables fed into it.

I'm not in any particular rush to replace my Sony SVPS7000. But my wife would like a multi-disc CD changer, and I would not mind a DVD player with DTS circuitry and progressive scan.

I may just wait for HD DVDs to come out.

encoding, demacrovision hack, MPEG4 compatible.. Latest version below has even more features, i.e., 802.11b wireless..

I love it but must admit, it's one tempermental machine (altho' the N version is allegedly much improved and more stable). ~$400-450 shipped to your door.

https://www2.setssl.com/~hivizone/dvdplayer/main_frame.htm</a

I know Denon is good but any suggestions on any other manufacturers? The only reason I don't really like Denon is that they make so many versions of the same thing. I have stuck by Marantz as they make a good sturdy product and it is straight and to the point and usually loaded.

Thanks for all help.
I am thinking more of like $500-$600 for the unit.

And yes my tv is mounted. I will not be running a hdmi/dvi from dvd to tv as there is only one dvi input on that tv, so component will work for now but it would be nice to have the option in a few years. It seems like every 3 years I have been upgrading tv's.

$379 list price. also happens to be a DVD-Audio player. I'm not a video bug so I won't comment, other than it's noticeably better in that regard than my old Pioneer.
Build quality is excellent for this price level.
