meaning, can it be placed on a swivelling base so you can point it to either the sofa, or a chair beside it. say moving it 30 degrees when needed.

but a RPTV, an actual rear projection can't be table top....unless you want it another 3 o 4 feet off the ground.

I love it. a simple solution.

Mitsubishi do a 42" and Sony do a 46" CRT RPTV.

but be careful - the alignment of the optics can be disturbed if you bump the the RPTV too much.
