I love my DLP (50") but I'm having a problem with it. At startup it's got a little mettalic sound, it goes away and sometimes will come back. Most of the time it's low, other times it's unbearable. Should I call my extended warranty people and get it looked at or is something really easy to fix. Thanks.

The first one I got had an issue from the start. When the TV had been on for an hour or two, it would develop a high pitched whine. Pretty sure it was from a cooling fan, since it didn't occur right at startup.

Since the TV was brand new, I had Best Buy exchange it for another one and that one has been problem free *knocks on wood*.

If you are still within the initial 30 day period, just have the retailer exchange it as a defective unit. Otherwise, contact the warranty people.
