What CD player would you pick up on a sub $100 budget? I will be using an older Denon reciever and most likely Paradigm Mini Monitors.
I can pick up an NAD 5330 (looks like it's from the 80's, not many frills, single disc) for around $80 or less.
Other option is something from ebay, any advice, or if anyone wants to get rid of something, let me know.

A Toshiba DVD player with the model number SD3950 or SD3960 will sound surprisingly good for about $60-70. It's a complete fluke of synergy, but as a CD spinner they are remarkably sweet sounding. Most DVD players these days sound like tin cans, but this machine has something. I have the 3950 and it sounds more impressive than my Marantz CD67SE and HK CDR30. Less harshness and greater musicality. Very smooth. And they can be easily modded to dramatic effect if you so desire. Just do a search for either machine at:

Audio Asylum - Digital Drive
