what should i do with it?

as it is, i can't get any signal with one input. i'm thinking i should hack it to see how hard it is to do. and what i can do with it once it's hacked. any other ideas?

I think it is worth it to open op and look at the connector. Could be the board is cracked or the solder joint.

you could try hooking the inputs up one at a time with the same cable, then switching the cable over with the other. That way you can determine if it's the feed or the input.
