days. I currently have the speakers on the front wall in a custom cabinet with the electronics. The electronics are going in a dedicated room and the speaker i do not know. Any thoughts on speaker stands, mount them to the wall? If I use speaker stands can they be bolted to the floor? I have a very active 2 year old who usually stays away from the speakers but I would rather be safe.
Thanks
unless they are in-walls on on-wall specific speakers. I would suggest going to your local quality theater store and seeing what sort of solution they can come up with for securing speakers. I would be hesitant to bolt the speakers to the floor - you might want to move them later (and not have holes in your floor).
Is the floor hardwood or rug?

It's only temporary...in 2 years he/she will know better.
I had my niece visiting years back (she was 3 or so). She managed to work her way into the home theater when nobody was looking. I found her carefully holding up the edge of a 10 lb speaker which she had managed to nearly slide off the stand. If I walked in 10 seconds later, she would have been on the floor with a welt on her forehead (or worse).

Finding the right speaker placement is a never-ending battle. You should allow yourself the flexibility to move them around and experiment. You'll be surprised how much difference (good or bad) a couple of inches makes for each speaker.
