Anyone else had this..and how much was the fix. No, I didn't do any extended warranty..I bought from the Sony Store as if I was a Sony employee. Great discount...no extra warranty. Had it for at least 2 years now..maybe closer to 3 years. Is this terminal..or can I get it fixed for under $300? Thanks. When I switch from Video one to six..the letters "VID" are a different color when they display...kind of an aqua blue color...and the rest of the letters are green like they should be. Ugh.

The TV was selling for $1799 at Circuit City and Good guys when it came out..I got it for $1139 at the Sony Store with a Sony employee discount.

Swing an unshielded speaker by it recently? That will cause that kind of discoloration in specific areas.

Disconnect the set and move it across the room, leaving it there for an hour or two. This often works with removing magnetic interference (which is highly likely to be the issue). If not, and you've not got any unsheilded speakers sitting near-by, call a local TV repair place. they should be able to help without too much of a fee. Degaussing is fairly straightforward and usually requires minimal labour.
