View Full Version : What was your most expensive upgrade (audio only) Rubberduckie 09-04-2004, 08:07 AM Martin Logan Aeon-i's last Christmas. Retail at $3350. Gator Al (Al) 09-04-2004, 11:38 AM RKA 09-05-2004, 06:58 PM ATH 09-06-2004, 09:30 PM dbex 09-07-2004, 08:02 AM Each about $1500, roughly 4 years ago. Pretty happy with 'em, but I'm starting to get the itch to go with something more than 2-channel.... PlumSmuggler 09-14-2004, 07:45 AM My Velodyne was expensive also! :) Rob Somesuch 09-16-2004, 11:10 PM For HT, Naim AV2 pre/pro at $4400 retail. For 2-channel, Naim NAP500 power amplifier at ~ $20,000 retail. ----------------------------------------------- 2004 S4 - 6-speed Manual Dolphin Grey/Ebony Premium/Premium Audio/XM Heated Seats **BONESTOCK!** Rubberduckie 09-17-2004, 06:42 AM I had some Naim gear about ten years ago. Nothing can match level of drive detail and, more than anything, display of rhythm. NAC82/NAP140/HiCap. 40watts and masses of current. Love the beautiful, green Naim legend on the face plates. Somesuch 09-17-2004, 01:14 PM Don't use Naim gear anymore? What did you switch to, if I may ask? Yah, I love the detail and sheer musicality of Naim stuff. Kinda dig the Cold War era Soviet design aesthetic too. Very funky. Rubberduckie 09-17-2004, 05:41 PM I sold my Naim gear to pay for our wedding when I moved to the US in '98. Now have a super smooth and warm-sounding Musical Fidelity A300 to go with fairly recently purchased Martin Logan Aeon-i's. Project RPM6/Blue BPS EVO III cartridge. |
