The RJ1500 has a VGA output if you have a projector and is $110. Otherwise, get the Philips at $70-80. They play DivX, XviD, all that crap. Not sure if they're progressive or have component out however, but they're the 2 best ones that play all the media formats right now. Doozy™ 08-31-2004, 01:43 PM do you mean svcd? Reggie 08-31-2004, 02:26 PM You can really hear the difference

Link

[tri]liament 08-31-2004, 11:42 PM mine was $30 and plays everything i would ever need it to. what benefits would you find in a more expensive player? Rubberduckie 09-01-2004, 06:15 AM For $250 you can get a well built machine with SACD and/or DVD-Audio (both are high res' formats allowing for high res' 5.1 music discs to be played and enjoyed by those who like to sit and listen to music as opposed to having it on in the background) from an established quality brand name. For people with surround systems costing less than $3k, there isn't much to be gained from high res' formats compared to what more revealing systems can do. As for DVD picture quality - the better the DVD, the more the appreciable difference between a $100 player and a $900 player (Denon DVD2900, Sony DVPNS999ES, Pioneer DV47i). RogDog 09-01-2004, 09:57 AM Believe me, there's a huge difference in picture quality. That being said, my Zenith cost me $160--I'm not one of those folks who would spend $500+ on a DVD player. TTown 09-08-2004, 12:24 PM it's not too expensive and it is the only one beside a samsung which has a DVI out for HDTV - if thats a factor for you Rubberduckie 09-08-2004, 06:13 PM |
