When will we see one in the states?

NEVER. And it really bums me out. I would love to have one but realistically I see so few A4 Avants and even fewer that are 5sp, that I can understand. There really isn't a market for performance oriented wagons, I take sh*t all the time for building mine. While this site represents a handfull of enthusiasts, People "generally" or not hip to the performance wagon vibe. Which is a shame in the case of the A4 Avant because you give up nothing in handling or performance (another discussion), they're even shorter than the sedan. Anyway, I know my Avant could hang with any sedan, save the S4 and maybe a built -to-the-hilt 1.8t. But how cool would it be to get an S4 Avant Q, chip it, exhaust/filter it and be rolling a 340 horse wagon, that would be paradise, for me and my 4-legged best friend who rides in the back.
Damon
98.5 Avant 30v QMS
AMS chip, cat back, K&N, H&Rs, Bilsteins, Recaro SRs, clear corners/turn, A! grill, 18x8.5 A! A driver of an S6 Avant at Road America's QCA event last year commented that he felt the large rear weight bias in that car (due to all the glass) was somewhat detrimental to the handling and that he really had to pay attention to keep the tail from swinging out in a fast corner. Have you had any experience with that sort of thing?

Not only WON'T there be an S4 Avant imported to
North America, but if someone doesn't start buying
2.8 & 1.8 Avants, we won't get them anymore either!

Damon, I'm here to tell you that you do NOT need all that extra stuff. My 4 legged friend is thrown all over the shop as it is .
I'm in serious danger of becoming an S4 Avant bore, see the entry in the registry. If you are ever this side of the pond etc etc.

Absolutly NOT, I switched from 2.6Q Saloon to S4 Avant and the handling is every bit as good due to the Michelin Pilot SX tyres.
See S4 enrty in the registry.
