I just put a deposit to hold one until I can see it in person. It is silver/silver/black with various options--inluding the B & O audio system. I live 60 minutes from the dealership.

I am excited, but am scared of the depreciation. I usually only keep a car one year. I no longer have my A6. Any advice?

Be prepared to loose about $20K in depreciation the first year.

However, if you don't think about that, you'll probably have a huge grin for 365 days straight!

I just heard from my dealer that the 3 year resid is going to be in the 56-58 pct range, so certainly not terrible. MF is expected to come out to about 7 pct per year.

The dealership has a S6 too, so I hope to see both if available. I don't know if the Audis look too conservative for me. The RS4 is a bit bolder looking. I have a Range Rover Sport now, and have become accustomed to some "bling."

I am excited about the S8, however, and I don't get excited about too many vehicles lately.

We'll see....

how do you keep a vehicle for a year and not loose your shirt on the deal? I would love to get out of my S4 into something else, buts its hard to move the car.
Thanks

Just got quoted the following if I choose to lease my S8 ($98k sticker).

$1874 per month (zero cap)
Money factor .00359
Residual is 52%

This figure DOES NOT include tax.

Absolutely insane...especially the 8.6%+ interest rate.

... have your company own the cars if you're going through them that quickly. I buy/sell a car every 6-12 months and there are definitely advantages to having it be a company asset rather than a personal asset... also, buy early cars... I bought one of the first Gallardos in the country, one of the first Elises in the country, a rare (and early) DB7 Vantage Cpe 6spd (one of only seventeen cars in the model year so configured, with the full carbon fiber interior...), etc. Get an early car, it actually helps (rather than hurts) depreciation, and you get to drive the car for a bit before everybody has one.

My dealer called me yesterday with an S8 on the floor. Some guy backed out on it.

Finanacing 100% of $95K is around $1900 per month. In this case I would finance over lease. Leasing on the super sedans is bad because they are not selling. My A8L lease is $1000 per month on a $75K to $80K sticker. Another $10K costs another $1000 per month?? WTF??

$95K is insane. You can get an M5 brand new for $15K to $20K less. I know they are kind of different classes but not enough for me to pay the extra.

S8's will be stacking up at dealers. I say wait another month or so.

Or already bought one six months ago.
