Velocity - VB2 (if i can get an Audi center cap instead of BMW)

Since the 19" are an option on the vehicle, will the move to 19" have an adverse impact on ride quality?

Thanks for the help....

With the 275/35-20, you're not giving up sidewall height over the 19" and the extra mass smooths out expansion gap thudding. The 18" setup is very boomy and floaty.

prefer the 20's. The car feels more connected and in reality, I don't think the ride suffers that much. The A8 has a suspension system that can cope easily with running on 20's. You want a softer ride, switch to comfort mode.

You could fit larger diameter tires on the 19's to get most of the sidewall height back.

255 40 19 have 4.0 inch tall sidewall

275 40 19 have 4.3 inches

255 45 18 have 4.5 inches

I'm running 275 Pirelli PZero on my '04 Phaeton (which also the air-ride suspension). Seems a little stiffer but the handling is phenominal over the 18's. The tire is 7/10th of an inch taller which closes some fender gap and reduces the natural speedometer error. Because the 275 tire is wider at the tread, you get better grip!

The photo above shows the Bentley Continental GT 9x19's with Pirelli 275 40ZR 19's on an A8. I have them on my Phaeton.<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-Bentley-Continential-GT-Chrome-Wheels-Tires-Spur_W0QQitemZ180033899110QQihZ008QQcategoryZ66485 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">A set on ebay for about $1,500!
