Looks like its time for new shoes...my car came with P6 A/S, which are ok I guess. My previous experience with an A/S tire is with the Michelin Sport which I thought was an awesome tire. Tire Rack is only showing these 2 as options for my car...19 inch wheels...are there any other size tire that will fit these rims? OE is 255/40/19 or should I just bite the bullet and get the Michelins?

Michelins are so much better (overall).

because of the noise off the last set at 15 - 20k miles. Just horrible. I have not bought another set of All Seasons so cannot recommend.

which I have mounted on my 20 in wheels for Spring through Fall but for Winter, I have a set of 18 in wheels with LM-22 Blizzaks which are working extremely well in the snow and slush.

I installed the 255-40ZR-19 Continental Sport Contact 2 Extended Load....the best tire I've ever owned and the only replacement tire that Audi says carries the proper LOAD FACTOR for the A8L-D3, other than Pirelli. I had OEM Pirelli's and they sucked at 8K miles, they roared so loud I couldn't here myself think at highway speeds, it was a total embarassment to have people in the car with Pirellis as shoes.

I have the 19" Dunlop SP9000 on my '05 A8L, and with 4k miles they seem OK, plenty "grippy" but a little on the noisy side. We'll see if this noise gets any worse. If not, it's going to be a good tire.
Certainly a better choice then the Pirellis, and I would argue a good substitue for the Michelins, as I believe they are somewhat cheaper.
I agree with the earlier post though, the Conti's are the best tire for the A8, and when it's time to replace, this is what I will do.

Just bought Pirelli PZeoro Asimmetricos in size 275 40ZR 19 105Y high load - off a Bentley Continental GT with < 500 miles on them. I'll let you know if they'll fit on the 9Jx19 wheels. The spare fits in the trunk well. Running a Phaeton.

I have tried Good Year and Dunlop before. Have Continental ContiTouring right now. THE BEST TIRE. Excellent handling dry/wet and very very quiet.
