I have a 2005 A8L (produced just before they included Bluetooth) and am looking for a way to connect my iPod. I've tried the standard FM transmitters, but have not been happy with the quality (I live in southern California and can't keep a clear station for more than five minutes). Circuit City recommended a Harman/Kardon kit ($200) plus a device designed to allow regular radios to connect with satellite receivers via FM. The device apparently overpowers normal FM stations to allow for a clear connection with the satellite receiver. Total cost with labor is around $400.

I don't know much about car stereos, but does this sound legit? Any other suggestions for iPod connections? I have XM and a CD changer (I would be willing to give up the CD changer if the connection was needed for the iPod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
