There are way too many folks around here that drive without a clue. Anything that reduces the big target symbol on the hood is a good thing ;-)

but they're on all the time on my car.

I had to come up with some reason to have them on.

1)How about, the other driver can see you better.
2)It's a 3yr lease, so I don't care if they burn out
3)It gives it a more agressive look in the rear view mirror of a xxxx.
4)It's nice to show off the LED's

Hell, I had to google the letters and thankfully it came back with Day Time Running Lights or I would have still been at a loss as to what derf referencing. Love your pancake reference.
