I must be the most jinxed member on the forum. Thought everything would be ok this time around but today the window that was repaired is leaking, MMI central knob has a mind of its own and the PDC doesn't work.

Im sorry to hear this. Theres nothing like a car built correctly from the start as opposed to repairing it later. The window WILL be fixed and the MMI/PDC, well, YOU know!!!!

For instance, if I am listening to the radio and scroll down to preset number 6, before I can press down to select it, the menu has scrolled up to the first selection, which is to store the current station I'm already listening to.

Very sorry to hear this. . . I have a "3 strike" rule. . . when there are out, there out.

longest I have owned a car in the past 20 years or so. . . I love this car and might be buried in it. . . .not one problem (a record for me). . .I just don't know where I would find a more comfortable, well engineered, and quiet German sedan at any price. . they truly are one hell of a buy. . .and when you buy them "right" the depreciation is a none issue with me.

That is, after selecting a new station (but before pushing the MMI knob), the MMI reverts back to the radio station (or CD track) that is currently playing. But only after about five to ten seconds, which I have no problem with. So, maybe there's a way to slow the process.

the system scrolls back th the original selection. This is the way its set up to act.

But might I suggest the next generation Lexus LS Series, Kimbo? Quality and reliability are in a class of their own. Lexus also promises that the new LS Series will be just as much fun to drive as and more stylish than it's European competitors. There will be four versions: LS460, LS460 AWD (both with an all new 4.6L DFI V8), LS600h and LS600h AWD (both hybrids with a 5L DFI V8, a 1L electric engine, S8/A8LW12/760i/ 760Li/S600/S55 AMG/S63 AMG performance and Camry V6 or Camry four-banger fuel economy). Avoid the E65/E66 7 Series, E60/E61 5 Series, E90/E91/E92/E93 3 Series, X5, all 2000+ Mercedes Benzes, all Jaguars other than the XJ (which is is very suprisingly very good for a Jaguar) and all Land Rovers like the plague as all of these vehicles have an even greater quanitity and severity of quality and reliability issues than any Audi-old and new.

My MMI with XM does that jumping back to the active entry before I can click a new station. I haven't studied it long enough to see a pattern to when it occurs. Rather then be distracted from driving I just change the station with the arrow keys or the left steering wheel wheel.

As problems go I put that on the minor minor list. 10K miles in 10 months and otherwise flawless.

Exactly what mine does...Bounces around to different selections. On the positive side I fixed the PDC myself...Right front sensor was faulty. $60 and 10 minutes and we're operational again.

It didnt dent the panel so I'm going to have a guy use an airbrush, wet sand, polish technique. I had him do a few cars for me back in the dealer days, and the job comes out phoenominal on non metallic cars.
