How do you store a location that you are at and don't know the address in the MMI memory? Everytime I do it, it stores the last address that I used.

Everytime I do it, it stores the last address that I used. '05 A8L Black/Black #11240 Plano-4.2 04-25-2005, 05:11 PM On the nav map, press on the MMI button to bring up the crosshairs. The crosshairs will be at your current position. Scroll the MMI knob down to select the checkered flag and click. This will take you to another menu, select the store current location (I'm not 100% on the wording). Is this what you did? I've used this only once, but never used it to return to that location. Jitney 04-25-2005, 05:12 PM Page 168-169 of the MMI manual. 1. Position the crosshairs at the point you want to save. 2. Press the MMI knob again. 3. Select the option with the Finish Flag (3d option on the side menu). 4. Press the MMI knob again 5. Choose 'Store to Directory'. 6. Name your location, end by selecting OK. We're located in one of those unmapped areas, and when you get to your location, it just tells you that "you have arrived at your destination." rexwilson 04-27-2005, 02:40 PM i've found that the cross-hairs aren't always at my current location. Sometimes they're a ways off, and I have to manually navigate up and down or side to side on the screen. Is there no way to just say "save my current location", regardless of where the cross-hairs are? Plano-4.2 04-27-2005, 02:58 PM That sounds really strange. The crosshairs should be at the current location when the MMI button is pressed. Is it shifting over to a nearby road? That would make it a bit difficult to find the current location. I would say the philosophy of the NAV is to get you to some place new, not return to where you've been. My hand held Garmin GPS is more for outdoors (hiking/fishing) and is set up to return to someplace you've been. |
