View Full Version : Astonishing, new A8 more aerodynamic than Koenigsegg... target01 11-17-2004, 09:39 AM 0.297 vs 0.27 for Audi. Comments? p.s. bloody good show audi TheBrit 11-17-2004, 11:40 AM Helps explain why the W12 is faster above "a certain speed" than the RS 6. D3AeighT 11-17-2004, 01:58 PM Although it was an "L", however. You got the SWB-W12, right? The one we drove had 19" wheels like mine with (sp)Brigestone's. We made the big boy "gottee" go through the paces. TheBrit 11-17-2004, 02:04 PM They're something aren't they? Yes, mine's a standard wheelbase, with (standard on the UK SWB) sport suspension and seats for a bit more fun behind the wheel. target01 11-17-2004, 02:14 PM I could dload it to mobile and make it my ring tone... TheBrit 11-17-2004, 02:23 PM As soon as I get chance, honest! Audio clip is an interesting idea though. target01 11-17-2004, 02:29 PM idle. nirad 11-17-2004, 09:15 PM Cameron 11-18-2004, 11:43 AM ... the Egg needs to create far more downforce than the Audi. And since Egg doesn't have the $$ needed for movable airfoils (a la McLaren and Lambo), it has to do what it can. Also, Audi has access to two of the best minitunnels in the world, while the Egg folks probably couldn't afford more than five or six hours total of model evolution windtunnel time. The Zonda has even worse on drag coefficient. My bet is the A8 still doesn't beat the A2's fantastic drag coefficient? What about other comparisons (Prius, Insight, etc.)? Toyota has full tunnel facilities, in some ways the fairest comparison would be A8 vs. LS430 in drag coefficent, they're cars in a similar market position and both developed by manufacturers with tunnel access. You CAN NOT simulate airflow effectively on a computer. No matter how much money you have. No matter how many computers you have. The software to accurately model airflow in these situations simply does not exist. The Mark Webber CLK-GTR flight proved that to everyone. Cameron 11-19-2004, 01:57 PM TheBrit 11-20-2004, 04:38 AM |
